Igsclac News

In the Andean Route Countries for Science and Technology (ARCST) and the International Green Science Center for Latin America and the Caribbean (IGSCLAC), we recognize that fostering the Construction of a Scientific Culture (CCC) begins with accessible, engaging, and innovative educational tools. Biopochito—our interactive game designed to share knowledge about sustainability and environmental awareness—has now reached children and families in Puerto Rico, El Salvador, Ecuador, Bolivia, Colombia, China, France, and Singapore.

We are excited to announce that the Andean Countries for Science and Technology (ARCST) have been invited by the Beijing Science Network to present BIOPOCHITO at the Beijing International Science Festival, which will take place from August 8 to 11, 2024. The event will be held in Halls 5 and 6 of the Beijing National Convention Center, covering an activity area of 10,000 square meters. The festival will feature the participation of 10 international scientific organizations, 30 activity spaces, 100 special events, 20 stage presentations, and 5 special workshops.

The Andean Countries for Science and Technology (ARCST) participated in the Beijing International Science Festival, held at the Beijing National Convention Center in Beijing, China, from August 8 to 11. During the four days of the event, more than 21,000 children and their families visited the festival. At the center of our participation was the presentation of BIOPOCHITO, an innovative educational tool designed to inspire a new generation of environmental guardians.

ARCST presented its educational game BIOPOCHITO at the international iGEM competition in France, highlighting its innovative approach to teaching biology and environmental science to children in a fun and accessible way. Developed by an international team, BIOPOCHITO aims to inspire new generations through interactive learning.

Biopochito has been officially incorporated into the International Green Science Center for Latin America and the Caribbean (IGSCLAC), strengthening its role as an educational tool for sustainability, the construction of a scientific culture, and scientific literacy. As the center promotes innovation and collaboration, Biopochito will continue to inspire thousands of students to engage with environmental science through interactive learning.

The Minister of Ecology and Environment of China, who also presides over the Conference, expressed his deep gratitude to all parties for their unwavering support during the biodiversity negotiations.
